Things do not vary too much between gyms, but you could be more selective according to your special case. People prefer the cheapest or the closest to home variant. Some people prefer to create their own exercise gym in the privacy of the home. If you have enough space and you afford the investment, it is really nice to get a treadmill, an elliptical spinner and several free weights and create your private training corner. The advantage of working at home is that of flexibility and privacy. The gym schedule does not influence your training program, you save time by not having to travel to the gym and you can enjoy all the comfort you want. Watch TV or even listen to music while training.
The neighborhood exercise gym has one or more trainers to rely on, but things are different at home. You’re on your own, unless of course, you pay for someone to come and coach you at home, which is really expensive. Only really wealthy people use such services, but you don’t have to be discouraged; regular physical activity can be performed individually without too high challenges.
